What is Thinkerella?

Thinkerella is a hands-on educational program for girls and boys that focuses on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) experiments and activities. Through after-school activities, workshops, birthday parties and scout sessions, each session tackles complex material by making it fun and exciting for children through interactive learning experiences. Created by local mom Cherie Melancon Franz, Thinkerella aims to inspire the next generation of makers, builders, shapers, doers, and inventors.

What age range is appropriate for Thinkerella?

Elementary and middle school children ages 3-13 enjoy our many activities. From workshops and scout sessions to birthday parties and in-school field trips, each session is tailored to the children who will be attending, providing experiments that ensure the experience is fun and exciting for every Thinkerella and Thinkerfella!

What kind of experiments are done?

With a focus on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) subjects, experiments are customized to offer an appropriate level of complexity for Pre-school, Elementary, and Middle School boys and girls. All activities are safe, non-toxic, and fun. Activities provide easily understood real-world examples and demonstrations of sometimes difficult topics, such as Newton’s Third Law of Motion. Certified teachers write all curricula and lesson plans.

How much does Thinkerella cost?

Pricing depends upon the type of event, the number of children attending and other factors. See our programs page for more information.

What does the cost include?

Aside from participating in hands-on, supervised activities, each child gets to keep their very own science lab coat as well as everything they create. Keepsake goggles are also available at additional cost. Visit our ThinkerShop for more!

Is Thinkerella available for schools?

Yes! Our after-school ThinkerKids! program is available to all schools in 6-Week or 12-Week sessions, which are done once a week for one hour. Parents voluntarily pay for their child to attend the program after the school day concludes; schools do not pay anything. We can also work with your child’s school on pricing, grants and possible sponsorships to bring the program to you.
